Johanna Andrea Molina, MSN, CRNP, is a board-certified dermatology nurse practitioner with more than 25 years of experience in nursing and dermatology. As the founder of Urbana Dermatology, Johanna brings extensive clinical experience together with a deeply personal approach to care—creating a dermatology practice where patients feel heard, cared for, and never rushed.

Bringing a Different Kind of Dermatology Care to Urbana

For Johanna, opening Urbana Dermatology is especially meaningful. A longtime Urbana resident, she has watched the community grow and has been proud to call Urbana home for more than two decades. Creating Urbana Dermatology gives her the opportunity to bring her years of dermatology experience directly to the community where she lives.

She wanted to create a local practice that combines her extensive dermatology experience with the kind of care she believes patients deserve: personal, accessible and unhurried.

Urbana Dermatology was created as a direct-pay dermatology practice, allowing Johanna to focus more directly on the patient rather than the complexities that often accompany a traditional insurance-based model. With straightforward pricing and a more personalized approach, her goal is to make high-quality dermatology care easier to understand and more comfortable to access.

A Career Built on Experience

Johanna began her nursing career at Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring, Maryland, while earning her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Maryland — going on to work alongside respected dermatologists and surgeons throughout Maryland and Washington, D.C.

Early Career

Began nursing at Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring, MD, while earning her MSN from the University of Maryland.

2001

Began specializing in dermatology after joining the Center for Laser Surgery as a nurse practitioner.

2010

Completed her Family Nurse Practitioner certification through the University of Massachusetts.

2013

Founded Hagerstown Dermatology & Skincare, building a decade-plus practice centered on attentive, personalized care. Board certified in dermatology through the Dermatology Nurses’ Association.

Today

Founds Urbana Dermatology, bringing more than two decades of dermatology experience home to the Urbana community.

Her experience spans both medical and cosmetic dermatology, giving her a comprehensive understanding of skin health throughout every stage of life — including more than two decades of experience with Botox®, dermal fillers, chemical peels, laser treatments and facial rejuvenation.
